WCD conference 2023: Disrupting expertise in nutrition and dietetics teaching, practice and research
Mode of delivery: Synchronous online delivery with local watch parties, in October 2023 (October 24/25/26 in Australia; October 23/24/25 in Canada/ USA)

We encourage submissions from all people including students, nutrition and dietetics practitioners, researchers, other critical health disciplines and community members.
Our purpose is to spotlight the intersections of disciplines and perspectives that deepen the teaching, research and practice of critical dietetics and nutrition. As critical inquiry is both collaborative and contextual, for the first time in the history of WCD, the conference will be delivered synchronously online, with an option for local gatherings in varied geographical locations. Local groups of people will have the option to watch the conference as a group (known as “watch parties”).
The 2023 World Critical Dietetics Conference invites a range of presentation formats.
Submissions may be text-based or in video or audio form. We encourage proposals that are arts-based and include, for example, visual arts, performing arts, stage arts, cabaret and comedy. Please clearly indicate in your proposal, which of the following formats you propose to use for your conference presentation:
1. Individual papers/presentations (20 minutes): Please submit a 200-word abstract or 3-minute audio-video recording including the corresponding author’s name, pronouns, title, affiliation, and email address, plus the names of any co-authors.
2. Thematic session- Symposium of three to four papers/presentations (60 minutes): Please submit a thematic overview (100-200 words or 3-minute audio-video recording) that describes the symposium, and three to four abstracts (one for each paper of 200 words each or 2-minutes of audio or video recording). Indicate the corresponding author’s name, pronouns, title, affiliation, and email address, plus the names, pronouns, titles and affiliations of the co-presenters.
3. Workshop or round-table (90 minutes): Please submit a 250-word abstract or 3-minute audio-video recording, describing the focus of the workshop or round-table, the format or activities proposed, and the technologies required. Describe goals of the workshop or roundtable and how participants will be included to make this different from a thematic session.
4. Ignite presentations: Communicate your idea, passion, or learnings in critical health care with an ignite presentation (five minutes, 20slides).Please submit your proposal for a 5 min presentation (150-200 word written or 2-3 minute audio-video abstract) including the author’s name, pronouns, title, affiliation, and email address, plus the names of any co-presenters. 5. Pecha Kucha-like presentations (20 slides of images to be shown for exactly 20 seconds each): Please submit a 200-word abstract or 3-minute audio or video recording including the author’s name, title, affiliation, and email address, plus the names of any co-presenters.
